Key Responsibilities As the Technical Manager, you will ensure that all technical and compliance aspects of the business are effectively managed to meet industry standards and exceed client expectations. Your responsibilities will include: Food Safety & Compliance: · Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including UK food laws and hygiene standards. · Managing audits, both internal and external, and ensuring the business is always audit-ready. Quality Assurance: · Developing and maintaining robust quality assurance systems to guarantee the consistency of our products and services. · Conducting regular site inspections, risk assessments, and investigations into non-conformance issues. · Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational processes. Supplier and Ingredient Management: · Managing supplier approvals, specifications, and ingredient traceability to ensure they meet company and client requirements. · Overseeing product labelling compliance. Team Leadership and Training: · Leading and mentoring the technical team to ensure they are fully trained in food safety and quality practices. · Delivering training programs across the business to promote a culture of technical excellence and accountability. Client Interaction and Problem Solving: · Collaborating with clients to address technical queries and ensure customer satisfaction. · Supporting new product development (NPD) with technical expertise, including reviewing specifications and processes. What We’re Looking For: Experience: · Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within the food and beverage industry. · Strong knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and quality assurance frameworks (e.g., HACCP, SALSA, BRC). Skills: · Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. · Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence internal teams and external stakeholders. · Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
