About the Role:
My client is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team, working on groundworks for residential developments. Based in the North West, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating multiple projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery. This is an ideal role for someone with a background as a Site Engineer and solid experience in groundworks, particularly in roads and sewage.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management: Oversee groundwork projects, including roads, drainage, and sewage installations, ensuring high standards in safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
2. Technical Oversight: Utilize your engineering knowledge to review and interpret technical plans, provide direction on site, and ensure alignment with specifications.
3. Team Coordination: Work closely with site teams, housebuilders, and subcontractors, facilitating clear communication and ensuring smooth operations across all stages of each project.
4. Budget Management: Monitor budgets and manage costs effectively, including overseeing subcontractor agreements and procurement.
5. Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict quality control and compliance with health and safety standards.
6. Problem-Solving: Address and resolve on-site challenges promptly, minimizing delays and ensuring projects run efficiently.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Engineering Background: Previous experience as a Site Engineer in groundworks, with expertise in residential developments, roads, and sewage.
2. Project & Contract Management: Familiarity with managing project schedules, budgets, and contracts in a construction environment.
3. Strong Communication Skills: Effective communicator and negotiator, comfortable coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
4. Flexibility: Open to both permanent and freelance candidates to accommodate project demands.
