Engage Talent are working with our Aberdeen based client who specialise in AI driven solutions to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer. Our client is a forward-thinking organisation that leverages artificial intelligence and advanced engineering capabilities to develop and bring to market their cutting-edge robotics and automation portfolio. As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design, development and execution of electrical systems and components for their AI powered solutions. You will work in collaboration with the cross-functional teams which includes mechanical engineers, software engineers and AI Scientists. Key responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical engineers, providing technical direction and overseeing project deliverables. Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and automation hardware for AI-driven applications. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including AI developers, software engineers, and other discipline leads, to integrate electrical designs with robotic systems. Ensure all electrical designs are covered by necessary technical documentation, specifications and reports, and comply with relevant standards, codes, and safety regulations, particularly in automation industries. Drive innovative electrical solutions to support the company’s advanced robotics projects, identifying and solving complex technical challenges. Develop project plans, manage budgets, and ensure projects are completed within scope and on time. Liaise with external vendors and stakeholders to source components, review specifications, manage external partners and ensure successful integration with systems. Promote and implement best practices in electrical design, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, ideally to MSc level and already working in a leadership or senior role. You will have strong knowledge around electrical systems design, including power distribution, control systems, and automation. You will also be familiar with design software such as EPLAN, Circuit Studio or AutoCAD and familiar with wiring harness design, component integration, sensor technologies, actuators, servo motors and control hardware.
