Company: Qualcomm Technologies International Ltd Job Area: Finance & Accounting Group, Finance & Accounting Group > Accounting General Summary: About the role The primary focus of the role is to support a subset of European legal entities within the Europe Satellite Accounting team to meet local statutory compliance requirements in the region: - to produce local GAAP statutory accounts compliant with local reporting obligations including filing of local accounts and managing statutory audits (or work with local service providers to generate local GAAP statutory accounts, where applicable) - to validate and sign off on month end accounts as prepared by Qualcomm's Global Accounting Operations Centre (located in Hyderabad) in accordance with US GAAP - to support local corporate tax compliance, tax accounting and reporting - to provide support for the group's preparations for ESG reporting - ad-hoc support for M&A activity in region and finance-related projects (e.g. new legal entity integrations or set-ups) - to provide finance support to the entities' officers and employees Detailed Job Description (1) Local Statutory Accounts - If required under local laws, statutory audits are managed efficiently, a clean audit report is given by our auditors, and that audited accounts are filed on time to the appropriate authorities. Close collaboration will be required between the Satellite accountant and our local in-country accounting service providers as well as with our auditors (if an audit is required). - Ensure that local legal entity statutory accounts are prepared in accordance with local GAAP and that they are filed on time to the appropriate authorities - Responsibility for maintaining the statutory Ledger for entities under your purview including posting necessary journals and aligning with statutory reports - Detailed reconciliations between the US GAAP management accounts and the final local GAAP statutory accounts showing all reconciling items will need to be prepared, reviewed and maintained going forward. (2) Monthly Accounting Close Review and Sign-Off responsibilities for the Entities they are responsible for (3) Local Corporate Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Payroll & Income Tax, Import Export Compliance Support EMEA direct and indirect tax teams in ensuring all local VAT and Corporate Income Tax reporting, compliance, tax payments and tax return obligations are met on time Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree. - 2 years of Accounting, Finance, or related work experience. Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's one year, Doctorate two years) of work experience. Qualifications Candidates should be a qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA or equivalent) with excellent pass rates and hold a degree ideally in Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Science, or Engineering. The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual, with the ability to manage their own workload in addition to indirectly managing Qualcomm resources in remote locations. The role will require extensive collaboration with external accounting service providers and auditors. The role would suit someone trained in practice looking for a move into industry or someone from industry who is looking for experience of working in an outsourced model. The candidate will also need to be able to demonstrate: - Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. - Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. - Microsoft Office Skills, in particular intermediate level Excel skills Preferred Background - Practical experience of producing or reviewing financial statements and participating in audits and the audit process. - Experience working in an international technology business - Experience using Oracle or similar ERP system References to a particular number of years experience are for indicative purposes only.
