We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Pastoral Assistant to join Greatstone Primary School, supporting the Inclusion Team to meet the social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs of our children and families.
You will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the Pastoral Director, providing support both within the classroom and individually to enable identified children to access learning successfully. You will also advise members of staff on provision for meeting SEMH needs within the classroom environment through inclusive learning practices.
The successful candidate will provide early intervention, support, information and guidance to children and families to increase engagement and improve learning outcomes for children.
You will join us at an exciting time as we work towards gaining our Nurturing School accreditation and will work with the Inclusion Team to support the running of nurture provisions across the school.
We have an exceptional team of professionals who place children at the heart of all they do. We believe that nurturing children through all aspects of their school lives ensures children, families and staff work together for the best possible outcomes for each individual young person.
If you believe and can demonstrate a:
1. commitment to all children no matter what their needs and strengths
2. flexible and caring approach to all children, families and colleagues
3. broad knowledge, experience and keen interest in all elements of inclusive approaches
4. belief that all children can thrive educationally and personally
5. calm, caring and thoughtful can-do attitude
Then please contact Hannah Ferris (Safeguarding & Pastoral Director spd@lightyear.kent.sch.uk) to arrange a tour of the school.
This post is term time only for 22.5 hours per week. We will be happy to discuss working hours as part of the interview process.
