A family-owned building contractor involved in a diverse range of projects is recruiting a Senior Contract Manager to join their growing business.
THE ROLE:
Pre-contract phase:
1. Assist in procuring new work and bringing new leads and clients to the business.
2. Support estimators during the tender process with technical expertise and programme advice.
3. Oversee tender adjudication process to ensure the bid price is accurate and all risks have been identified.
4. Take handover of contract documents from the estimator. Review contract conditions, payment terms, insurance and bond requirements etc.
5. Ensure contract or letter of intent are in place before any expenditure commences.
Construction phase:
1. Formulate financial plan for project, with budget controls to protect margin (or oversee surveyor if applicable).
2. Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, including client and professional team relations, managing programme, monitoring against financial plan 'cost control'. Ensuring health & safety compliance. Overseeing site management. Planning ahead & thinking ahead to avoid pitfalls.
3. Delivery of CDM file/Q&M manuals.
4. Obtaining PC certificate.
Post-contract phase:
1. Oversee timely agreement of final account.
2. Manage execution of the snagging/defects, to obtain final certificate.
3. Ensure retention is invoiced and paid.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
1. Previous experience as a Senior Contracts Manager.
2. A leader who shows honesty and consistency, and motivates the team to deliver excellent results.
3. A manager who promotes quality, productivity and delivery.
