Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor\n\nJob Description:\nWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor for a large-scale, £50 million PBSA project. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of cost management, from initial feasibility through to final account settlement, ensuring the successful delivery of the project within budget and to the highest standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nLead and manage all quantity surveying activities for the £50 PBSA project.\nPrepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring financial control of the project.\nMonitor and control project costs, identifying and mitigating risks related to financial performance.\nManage subcontractor payments, including the preparation and negotiation of final accounts.\nOversee and mentor junior quantity surveying team members, providing guidance and support.\nReview and evaluate contractor and supplier tenders, ensuring best value for money.\nDevelop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.\nEnsure compliance with all contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.\nMonitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to senior management.\nAssist in the procurement of subcontractors and materials, ensuring timely delivery and value for money.Key Requirements:\n\nDegree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.\nMinimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.\nProven experience in managing large-scale commercial projects, ideally £50 million+ in value.\nStrong knowledge of cost planning, contract management, and project financial control.\nExperience with standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC, etc.).\nExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.\nChartered status (MRICS) or working towards it is preferred but not essential.\nStrong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.Apply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist Mark Harris, or apply with your CV.\n\nBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
