Role Overview Central to Ocasa’s mission to provide exceptional living experiences is the Facilities team, dedicated to ensuring our properties are safe, well-maintained and compliant with all standards. As our Property Compliance and Health and Safety Manager, you ’ll play a key role in shaping our approach to safety and compliance during an exciting time of growth and innovation. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you’ll be Ocasa’s go-to expert in ensuring our operations comply with all regulatory requirements and align with our commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for residents. You’ll work closely with our Primary Fire Authority, championing best practices in fire protection and setting the benchmark for health and safety standards in the residential property sector. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Facilities, Capital Projects & Operations colleagues to ensure our national portfolio adheres to all current health and safety regulations and is in line with company objectives on compliance with PPM scheduling. Review and record all risk assessment actions across the current portfolio, Implement ing the action plan across the business. Provide monthly updates to the Facilities Manager, highlighting p ortfolio compliance by fund, trends, and risks. Partner with internal or external stakeholders to resolve complex issues and risks to our overall compliance. In conjunction with the Facilities Manager, be responsible for collating and building data to assist with the building and implementation of a CAFM system. Manage insurance claims and follow up monthly reviews with the brokers. Oversee Ocasa’s Health and Safety Committee, championing initiatives that embed a Health and Safety culture across the organisation. Support the wider business with department projects and company objectives including recognition and awards for Ocasa, providing cover where necessary. Monitor and report on all identified risks to the Facilities Manager, with the aim of achieving 98% or greater compliance. Conduct site audits on risk assessment actions and standards of work. Conduct o nboarding and reviews of contractors. Line management of an Estates and Compliance Coordinator, including performance management and providing support and guidance. Experience and Qualifications Experience within a similar role, with a strong track record of leading and delivering compliance and risk management initiatives. IOSH and/or NEBOSH Certification is essential. Application and management of IS09001 is. Experience of managing a small remote working team is desirable. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across diverse audiences, including residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Ability to effectively manage time and workload, successfully multitask, and meet deadlines, with a high level of attention to detail, understanding risk assessments, prioritising work, and managing the close off processes. Confident IT skills, with the ability to use mul tiple in-house systems whilst e ffectively u til i s ing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data entry, reports, and project work. Working knowledge of Yardi would be an advantage. Passionate about customer service, with a genuine desire to deliver a great resident experience. A valid driving license is with access to your own ca r. Travel may include overnight stays.
