About us
The RAF (Royal Air Forces) Association has a clear objective: to help sustain a resilient and empowered RAF community. Through our sector-leading welfare and wellbeing services, we offer a wide range of support to serving personnel, veterans and their families. With thousands of members and supporters across the UK and further afield, plus hundreds of dedicated employees and volunteers, we have the network and experience needed for a personal one-to-one approach. We work together to make sure no one is ever left behind.
About the role
This is an exciting time to join us in this newly created role to raise income from trusts and foundations to support the development and growth of the RAF Association Group. Although this role spans the wide-ranging funding requirements of the RAF Association Group, it has a particular focus on leading the development and delivery of a trust fundraising programme in support of RAFAKidz nurseries. This not-for-profit subsidiary of the RAF Association provides quality, affordable early years childcare for Armed Forces and civilian families. You’ll have responsibilities which include:
* Achieving a personal income target by developing and managing a trust fundraising portfolio.
* Creating high-quality funding applications which communicate funding needs in a clear, articulate and compelling way to potential funders.
* Creating short, medium and long-term activity plans, budgets and forecasts for trust and foundation fundraising.
* Monitoring the implementation of grants awarded to ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
About you
The role requires you to have previous success in funding and grant applications within either a charity, voluntary or membership organisation. With the ability to transform complex information into engaging and persuasive grant applications and high-quality cases for support, you will also understand the need for undertaking due diligence, risk assessment, reviewing grant agreements, and implementation monitoring and reporting. You will demonstrate excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. You will need to be proficient in the use of CRM (we use Salesforce) to manage supporter relationships, and undertake research, performance analysis and reporting.
