We are looking to expand our dedicated Physics department in our Oxford Headquarters by recruiting a MATLAB Prototype Developer to the team.
About the role
The Prototype Developer collaborates with a team of physicists who are responsible for designing quantification algorithms for MRI data. This role involves developing and maintaining tools that incorporate various algorithms from the Physics team and other R&D teams. These tools, built in MATLAB, are used to rapidly deploy new innovations into Perspectum’s Pharma Solutions services.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be motivated by producing reliable and maintainable code. You will also be comfortable maintaining complex legacy systems and providing support/training to colleagues. You are likely to have a background in science together with proven software development experience. Above all, you will have high attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Your Duties will include:
* Develop and maintain tools featuring algorithms from the R&D teams.
* Support data analysis and imaging applications by troubleshooting incoming customer data.
* Prepare documentation, including engineering specifications, installation guides, and user manuals.
* Liaise with Product Managers and R&D teams on prototype roadmaps.
* Support Software Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Business Development departments.
* Deliver presentations to internal and external audiences.
Your knowledge and experience will include:
* MSc, PhD or equivalent experience in Physics, Maths, Biomedical Engineering or similar.
* Extensive programming experience in MATLAB, including building tools that have been adopted by others.
* Professional (or open source) experience building software as part of a team.
* Understanding of software design and testing.
* Experience using version source systems.
* Experience in designing Graphic User Interfaces.
* Good communication and team building skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Programming experience in Python and/or C/C++ (desirable).
