OVERVIEW
BLUE Communications is seeking a Marketing Executive to join the team with a core focus on the BLUE Group’s own brand marketing. Alongside supporting BLUE’s in-house marketing efforts, the role will be supporting media planning and buying projects for clients, coordinating company events and assisting business development initiatives.
While this role may suit someone at the beginning of their marketing career wanting to develop a wide range of skills and gain exposure to various marketing practices - including content creation, social media, event management, writing, trend analysis and reporting - we are open to applicants at all stages in their career, with the skills required of the role, and at salary range as advertised.
Tasks
Strategy support
The Marketing Executive will support in implementing the marketing strategy set out by the Business Development Lead, Brand Director and Digital Marketing Director, ensuring brand guidelines, tone of voice and messaging are in tune with content.
* Support the development of a core creative idea to complement BLUE’s narrative for 2025 and beyond.
* Adapting hero / thought leadership content to support planning and implementing key PR and marketing campaigns to run throughout the year.
* Co-ordinate monthly marketing reports to measure the marketing strategy against objectives.
* Conduct research on industry trends and competitor analysis to help inform the PR and marketing strategies.
* Monthly meetings with BLUE’s wider marketing team to ensure internal stakeholders are informed and the strategy continues to support business goals.
Content creation and management
* To develop and manage a pipeline of engaging content for BLUE’s social media channels and website.
* To edit / proofread marketing materials to ensure consistency with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
* Manage BLUE’s upcoming podcast in terms of scheduling podcast recording, supporting with briefing documents, managing pipeline and promotion.
* Support in the coordination of company announcements, including promotion and distribution of such news.
* Manage a regular update of case studies for website, new business proposals, and award entries.
* Work with BLUE’s creative team to implement creative strategy and adapt creative concepts and design outputs for BLUE’s marketing channels.
* Work with BLUE’s Digital marketing team to ensure all content is aligned with BLUE’s SEO strategy, and ensure paid social campaigns are aligned with wider marketing activity.
* Support the creation and delivery of email marketing campaigns.
* Identify and pitch media opportunities for BLUE senior team both proactively with thought leadership themes and reactively to industry news for commentary.
Events and Awards Management
The Marketing Executive will support with the smooth running of BLUE events and identify speaking opportunities for our senior team.
* To identify speaking opportunities for BLUE senior leadership at events / webinars / etc.
* To track relevant awards and update BLUE’s management team with potential opportunities for submission.
* Develop and execute event plans for company events, trade shows, conferences, webinars and corporate sponsorships.
* Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, and coordination of all aspects of event execution.
* Develop and execute event marketing initiatives to drive attendance, engagement and brand awareness.
CRM Management Support
* Assisting in managing and updating our HubSpot CRM system
* Maintaining and growing contact database and email marketing lists
Media Buying and Planning
The appointed Marketing Executive will leverage their knowledge of advertising to support certain client account teams in managing the media planning and buying process, including:
* Working with account teams and clients to understand the paid media objectives and budget
* Develop fit-for-purpose paid media plans, working with BLUE’s digital marketing team for integrated campaigns
* Negotiating and securing paid media placements with trade suppliers
* Coordination and distribution of campaign assets
* Working with suppliers and BLUE’s digital marketing team to measure campaign performance and reporting to clients
* Administrative tasks such as coordination between trade suppliers, clients and account teams, as well as keeping internal stakeholders informed i.e. creative, digital and finance teams.
Requirements
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
* Education and experience:
* A degree or relevant qualification in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
* Technical skills:
* Familiarity with social media platforms and basic marketing tools (i.e., LinkedIn, Instagram, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Canva, etc.).
* Basic understanding of SEO, content management systems (CMS), and email marketing tools.
* Basic understanding of CRM systems (i.e. Hubspot).
* Core competencies:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Creative thinking with a passion for staying updated on marketing trends and best practices.
