Regional Safeguarding & Relational Support Lead (Midlands, Glos, Northants) - Group Support
As we expand our group, we are looking to recruit a Regional Safeguarding & Relational Support Lead who is passionate about providing meaningful and progressive educational opportunities for young people that have barriers to learning.
At Spaghetti Bridge, we celebrate our unique three-stage curriculum approach to learning, which embeds the necessary 21st-century skills that our children need in order to lead fulfilling lives in a fast-changing society.
Our creative, individualised approach to learning is centred around well-being and skills for independence. From the time our students arrive, we assess their individual interests, passions, and desires to build a project-based curriculum to meet their needs. In so doing, we ensure they are well prepared to achieve their goals and succeed.
The role of Regional Safeguarding & Relational Support Lead will play an active and integral part of this process by providing leadership across all Spaghetti Bridge schools in ensuring that our safeguarding processes and curriculum are of the highest quality. This involves leading on the implementation of a group-wide safeguarding quality assurance cycle and development plan aligned with the strategic objectives of the Spaghetti Bridge Group, current statutory guidance, and safeguarding and leadership best practice.
This will involve regular site visits to schools across the group and the monitoring of quality through safeguarding systems, including the use of the Spaghetti Bridge BridgeLink safeguarding management system.
They will also work with the wider safeguarding and group support team and will design and deliver a programme of continuing professional development around safeguarding processes and curriculum delivery.
We take a proactive and integrated approach to safeguarding; therefore, the post holder will work with our safeguarding teams to develop and implement a high-quality PSHE curriculum that is pertinent to the needs of our students.
In addition, the Regional Safeguarding & Relational Support Lead will develop relationships with safeguarding professionals in the local areas of our schools and across the country.
Requirements of the post include:
* Extensive relevant safeguarding training
* Experience of successful leadership and management in a school or relevant setting
* Experience of leading on Safeguarding within a relevant setting
* Successfully meeting the expectations of Ofsted and other regulatory/compliant stakeholders
* Experience of using data to ensure quality and make improvements at a school or group-wide level
* Experience of working within an SEND environment and an excellent understanding of understanding and meeting the needs of students with barriers to learning
* The ability to build effective and trusting relationships with all stakeholders
* Expert knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance including the Care Act, Children and Families Act, and KCSIE
* Experience of designing, delivering, and quality assuring a PSHE and safeguarding curriculum at a school or group-wide level
This is a remote role. We have schools across the South West and are establishing new schools in the Midlands. The postholder will primarily partner with our schools in Gloucester, Swindon, and Northampton. They will also support new schools as they are added to this region. Regular visits to our schools and attendance at meetings in the South West will be required. Overnight stays may be required from time to time. Expenses are paid for travel.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of students and that they will act with integrity at all times.
Having a recognised teaching qualification would be an advantage but is not a requirement of the post.
We are strongly committed to providing high-quality professional development for all our staff. As part of a new and growing group, we will be able to offer significant opportunities to work in collaboration with colleagues in order to develop innovative teaching practice.
The well-being of our staff is an important priority; therefore, we provide opportunities to ensure we value their hard work and dedication and promote a healthy work-life balance. We are constantly reviewing our practices to ensure that our staff can focus on what matters: providing a rich environment in which children and young adults can learn and thrive.
We recognise that our schools all serve their own communities and are unique, but we also insist that our schools follow Spaghetti Bridge ways of working which ensure that there are high expectations and equality of opportunity for all our pupils.
Early application is encouraged; we may seek to appoint prior to the closing date.
