As we continue to grow our operations, we are looking for an enthusiastic Residential Childcare Worker to join us. You will be responsible for providing support, care and guidance to children and adolescents living in a residential facility.

Key Responsibilities of the Residential Childcare Worker:
* Provide direct care and supervision to children & young people in a residential setting.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans for each child & young person, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
* Foster positive relationships with children & young people, building trust and rapport through empathy, patience, and understanding.
* Promote a structured and supportive environment by implementing daily routines, activities, and behaviour management techniques.
* Encourage children and young people to attend/participate in education and/or employment.
* Collaborate with other staff members, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to ensure the holistic well-being of each child.
* Monitor and document children's progress, behaviours, and any incidents according to organizational policies and procedures.
* Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary to maintain a safe environment.
* Support children in developing life skills, social skills, and independence through various activities and interventions.
* Advocate for children's rights and needs, ensuring they receive appropriate services and resources.
* Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in child welfare and residential care practices
Skills & Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 in Children Residential Care (willing to complete or working towards)
Previous experience working with children and adolescents in a residential or similar setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children from diverse backgrounds.
* Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and behavioural management techniques.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if transportation of children is part of the job duties). Desirable but not essential.
* Must pass background checks and complete mandatory training.
