Following an exciting and very successful start to the current Water Industry investment cycle, the Infrastructure division is seeking to appoint a Principal / Associate Engineer to join our Water Sector focused team based at our Belfast office.
The role is within the Asset Planning & Solutions Practice of the AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure division. The role would suit an Engineer or Project/Design Manager who enjoys developing infrastructure design and managing construction projects under the NEC suite of Contracts in the NEC Project Manager role.

Responsibilities:
The engineering services we offer to our clients requires us to be able to deliver in an agile and future-facing environment. The following are examples of the type of responsibilities and requirements we seek / need you to have, working as part of our dynamic multidisciplinary water/wastewater team:
* Lead and contribute to the delivery of engineering projects particularly throughout the design development and construction stages to required budget and deadlines.
* Management of construction projects using the NEC suite of contracts including assessment and negotiation of contract changes.
* Client engagement to lead and contribute to discussions on technical civil engineering solutions.
* Oversee teams responsible for design deliverables including engineering design calculation, drawings, contract documentation.
* Ensuring the quality of project work meets the agreed standards and specifications.
* Be client focused and able to develop good working relationships with clients; understand client needs and help propose best value technical solutions to meet project challenges.
* Have a proactive commitment to Health and Safety and good knowledge of CDM requirements.
Additional responsibilities depending on preference:
* Identify opportunities and prepare bids to commercial and competitive standards for the future success of the business.
* Lead and contribute to the application of digital engineering initiatives and innovative advances in water sector solutions.
* Site supervision of infrastructure construction projects.
* Maintaining and developing excellent professional relationships which can assist in securing repeat business.
Detailed role requirements:
Essential:
* Educated to degree level with a civil engineering bias; Professionally Qualified Member of a recognised engineering institution. (CEng/IEng etc).
* Experience of Construction Project Management using NEC Suite of Contracts.
* Experience of developing civil engineering designs, specs and contract documentation.
* Proactive commitment to health and safety.
* Excellent written and verbal skills when communicating with stakeholders including technical and non-technical parties.
Desirable:
* NEC4 ECC PM Accreditation (training etc will be provided if not already held).
* Demonstrable experience within the Water sector. Other civil engineering experience (energy, maritime, geotechnical, industrial) would also be relevant.
* Up to date knowledge of current design codes and design software relating to Civil and Water Engineering.
* Previous experience working on UK Water frameworks.
* Experience in leading engineering design teams.
* Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams delivering projects.

The national Asset Planning & Solutions (AP&S) practice within AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure division includes a well-established, multidisciplinary, water engineering team with a varied and extensive portfolio of projects. Our local teams incorporate expert modellers, process, mechanical, electrical and civil engineers who provide a multidisciplinary approach to solving our clients’ problems in creating, managing, building and investing in water and wastewater infrastructure.
