Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with proven experience, leadership and management skills to coordinate our offer to industry in early clinical, translational research, including experimental medicine.
The role is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, the largest biomedical research campus in Europe, home to two NHS flagship Trusts, multiple world-class research Institutes, the University School of Clinical Medicine and a thriving biopharma ecosystem.
Main duties of the job
You will work as a senior member of the NIHR Cambridge Clinical Research Facility (CRF), liaising closely with CRF Directors and its Senior Team. You will build excellent working relationships with Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit, Office for Translational Research, NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre, CUH R&D, acting as a single point of contact for new and existing business with external clinical research organizations, academics, industry and SMEs. You will promote our infrastructure and facilities. You will be responsible for the delivery and development of the CRF industry strategy.

Qualifications
* A background in a relevant life/biomedical sciences/clinical research field
* MSc in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent experience
* Ph.D. in applicable Life Sciences field ICH-GCP
* Project Management Qualification
* Registered General Nurse
Experience
* Significant experience in an outward facing business development role in the life / biomedical sciences sector with experience in both academic and industry of facilitating translational healthcare research and / or business development in a healthcare business
* Excellent, demonstrable track record of operational project management
* Significant experience of working with health research networks
* Significant experience of hosting external visitors & organising formal & informal visits
* Experience of working in an industry / commercial setting
* Experience of organising business events
* Proven experience of managing clinical trials
* Working within NIHR Infrastructure
* Research management & governance in an NHS setting
* Research Nurse / Nurse Manager in clinical research setting
Knowledge
* Knowledge of commercial contract trial cycle
* Knowledge of medical / scientific and or research terminology
* Governance & legal framework for conducting clinical research studies
