North Downs Specialist Referrals have an exciting opportunity for an experienced purchasing assistant to join their team. This role will give you the opportunity to enhance your skills and to support you in this role we offer continuous support to our team with training and development opportunities with CPD programs. (CSQP course). This is a permanent part-time position of 27.5h per week. Purchasing Auxiliary The Purchasing Auxiliary role is a purchasing support role, the purpose of which is to maintain the supply of non-clinical goods for the practice and ensure the reception area and staff room are kept equipped, clean and tidy. This will enable the clinical team to deliver outstanding care to our patients and a professional experience to our clients, our staff and visitors to the hospital. It will require you to work closely with the purchasing team regarding goods delivered and distribution around the hospital. To purchase non-clinical consumables for the business and ensure that sufficient stocks are kept to allow for the smooth running of the hospital. Ensure all stock is correctly stored and audited. Tasks will include Ordering of items related to non-clinical work (stationary/tea & coffee supplies/uniform) in line with group purchasing policies, ensuring value for money and that sufficient stocks are provided to meet the needs of the business. Assist in managing delivery or orders, ensuring delivery notes checked against purchase notes and items have arrived in good condition. Assist in managing any delivery related issue. Ensure all items needing refrigeration are placed in the correct fridge, controlled drugs are passed to the authorised person and chemotherapy drugs are stored as per SOP upon arrival. Support clinical ordering during purchasing team annual leave and absences. Assist with quarterly stock take. Ensure all stock is rotated as necessary and out of date stock is disposed of as per guidelines. Person Specification The individual should demonstrate attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. A background in the veterinary or pharmacy profession would be an advantage. Valid UK driving license.
