Help us engage our audiences by creating a compelling social media strategy and content so that we can inspire people to collaborate as urban nature-nurturers on our platform, fund our programmes and partner in our work. What difference will you make? Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our service users, stakeholders, funders and general public. With your help we will be able to continue to expand our programme of ‘hub’ site community engagement and habitat building activities. You will also help us leverage essential further funding and contribute to the public conversation about nature-derived health & wellbeing and the contribution towns and cities can make to tackling the biodiversity and climate crises. What are we looking for? We are looking for a volunteer who has experience Writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Building strategies to increase social media following and build fundraising and awareness campaigns Developing a coherent brand voice for social media, from content creation to community interactions Setting up, developing and using tools such as Hootsuite, Social Sprout, Canva, etc Creating content calendars to help plan social media activity The volunteer should also have Accuracy and attention to detail The ability to quickly understand the needs of our team, organisation and users The ability and confidence to ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements An understanding of the resource constraints of a small charity, and willingness to work with these. An open and relaxed approach to giving and receiving feedback What will you be doing? Our charity delivers advice, resources, support and a connecting platform to urban communities wanting to collaborate to create networks of habitat for health-giving wildlife. We are particularly focussed on those most socially, economically and racially marginalised of communities. We are looking for an experienced social media marketer to work with us as our fledgling charity moves from pilot phase towards delivery of projects on multiple hub sites. This means we’re recruiting volunteers to build habitat on our ‘hub’ project sites, app users to extend the habitat creation into their private outdoor spaces, and broader audiences to showcase and share our impact and insights with. We would like the volunteer to Perform a social media audit As part of a team, assess the current state of our social media pages, Canva and asset library and broader organisational strategy and make recommendations on how we might improve our presence and engagement and where we might focus our efforts Help us develop and/or execute a social media campaign around and outwards from our pilot site locations in Hackney, East London, and more broadly in the nature-derived health & wellbeing, urban nature and climate/biodiversity spaces, including through audience analysis Provide guidance/strategy on how we can manage our social media on an ongoing basis e.g. using a centralised tool, creating a content calendar, identifying easy and free graphic tools and images and extracting great content for socials from our programme of site activities Produce fresh and engaging content for our social media channels Prepare graphics for sharing across channels Engage with our followers and encourage interaction Manage and maintain social media channels on a regular basis You will be working as part of the Marketing and Comms working group with the director, an existing marketing/social media volunteer and relevant trustee/s who will provide an overview of our existing communication and marketing materials, as well as our content strategy, brand guidelines and nascent brand research/user personas.
