The role of the senior ACP is excitingand varied. You will help build on the improvements that have been made overrecent years in assessment and treatment. You will have a key role in representing Barnsley CAMHS in strategicdiscussions with SYICB with the ambition and passion to drive improvements forthe Neurodevelopmental Services across South Yorkshire.

Main duties of the job
You willlead our ADHD pathway and Non-Medical Prescribing workforce. You will work asan integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team and Leadership Team where ADHDdiagnosis is considered, and recommendations made. You will be competent inprescribing medications in this arena but will be supported to develop thisskill if necessary. You will be able to make good relationships withprofessionals and families/carers and recognise the importance of multi-agencyworking in complex situations.
You will be a forward thinking, innovativepractitioner who has a passion for providing the best care possible for childrenand young people. The successful candidate will be an autonomous, experiencedpractitioner who enjoys teaching and working with practitioners to advancetheir skills in ADHD and lead our expanding Non-Medical Prescribing team.

Job responsibilities
The postholder will, as an Advanced ClinicalPractitioner (ACP), contribute to thestrategic direction for the development of clinical practice within ADHD and across the Trust as required.
Leading on services consolidation aswell as expansion in line with service and trust objectives and in partnershipwith the clinical lead and general manager .
The post holder will take the lead in extending boundaries and creatingframeworks for the enhancement of clinical practice within their speciality.
The post holder will continue to strive towards excellence in clinicalcare and communicate this excellence to colleagues both within the organisationand externally. Work as an independentnon-medical prescriber where permitted/appropriate (or for professional groupscurrently unable to register as an independent prescriber such as occupationaltherapists and speech and language therapists completion of a working withmedication prescribing module is required) within areas as required anddesignated, taking responsibility for the clinical assessment of the patient,establishing a diagnosis and the clinical management required in accordancewith the Trusts non-medical prescribing policy and protocols.
Expert clinical practice within the service for at least 60% of the post, including clinician led clinics and clinical diagnosis and independent prescribing where permitted/appropriate for ADHD.
Professional leadership, consultancy and clinical supervision, within the service, to the wider service, including Primary Care and other agencies.
Be the identified clinical supervisor to other advanced clinicians, regarding clinical and prescribing practice.
Education, training and development of staff, and a range of other agencies, including GPs and other medics in the management/ treatment services for ADHD.

1. Extensive experience of working within speciality of neurodiversity at Senior(B7) level or above.
2. Extensive practice as Independent non-medical prescriber within speciality. Where professional group currently unable to become a non-medical prescriber completion of a working with medication prescribing course is required and demonstration of competence in this field is required. where profession able to prescribe.
3. Experience of working therapeutically within ADHD and Neurodiversity.
4. Substantial experience in managerial / nursing leadership roles.
5. Experience of leading service development changes.
6. Developed awareness of the evolving healthcare agenda and the implications for nursing/clinical practice.
7. Experience of research and developing theory into practice.
8. Evidence of facilitating quality improvement into practice.
9. Developed knowledge of clinical governance issues.
10. Experience of training and education.
