Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
* Lead enforcement activities that ensure businesses and citizens comply with essential environmental health regulations.
* Investigate complex cases in areas such as food safety, housing standards, and environmental protection, making decisions that directly affect the wellbeing of the community.
* Advise, educate, and support businesses and the public, using your expertise to promote best practices across Nottingham.
* Collaborate with local, regional, and national partners, contributing to multi-agency initiatives that safeguard public health.
* Take charge of prosecutions and legal actions, leading compliance efforts and ensuring adherence to critical environmental health legislation.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who are:
* Qualified Environmental Health professionals with a degree or diploma in Environmental Health and a certificate of registration from the EHRB (or equivalent).
* Experienced in regulatory enforcement, with comprehensive knowledge of environmental health legislation across domains like food safety, housing, and environmental protection.
* Effective communicators capable of engaging with the public, businesses, and stakeholders, providing guidance, conducting inspections, and leading enforcement efforts.
* Problem solvers who can analyse complex information, make decisive judgments, and resolve issues with confidence and efficiency.
* Team-oriented leaders who can spearhead projects, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the overall success of our service.
