Description: We’re looking for a person with experience working with those in abusive relationships to support the council with meeting their responsibility under the 2021 Domestic Abuse Act, assisting with the Council’s provision of service, advice and housing, to those experiencing and fleeing domestic abuse.You will provide support and advice to staff working with those who have experienced domestic abuse, deliver training for those completing DASH assessments as part of their council duties, and lead on completing DASH assessments in complex cases. You will identify groups with low levels of domestic abuse reporting across the city and seek to raise awareness amongst them, when appropriate in partnership with existing agencies and services.Our successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of domestic abuse law, will be confident working with complex needs, and able to share best practice with colleagues. They will bring an enthusiasm to help the council provide the best possible support.The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.Due to the nature of this position, you will need to be able to travel around the city (by car or bike).Role: Specialist Housing Worker for Domestic AbuseHours: This is a part-time role, for 32 hours per week.Working Pattern: Monday to FridayContract: Fixed Term for 12 months, with the possibility of extensionSalary: £36,124 – £40,476 per annum (City Pay Band 5), pro rata for part time.Location:This is flexible – working in Cambridge at our Mandela House office or working from home.
