Job summary Dorchester County Hospital is pleased to be able to offer a Consultant Radiologist-Breast post. The new post holder will contribute to the general workload of the department whilst developing and providing a sub-specialist interest that complements existing expertise within the Breast imaging department. The current team of 1 Breast radiologist and 1 Breast Consultant Radiographer support the ever-expanding symptomatic breast service, which treats approximately 300 new breast cancer diagnoses per annum. The breast service provides up to five one-stop clinics per week, plus follow-up/intervention lists. The department currently uses a Hologic Dimensions Mammography unit, Toshiba Ultrasound, contrast-enhanced MRI, and Hologic Vacuum biopsy system. Full training for all the equipment will be provided. Main duties of the job Elective radiology reporting at DCH is carried out via an allocated worklist with the number and type of studies depending on the length of the reporting session and area of expertise. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of abilities across CT/MRI/ultrasound; the job plan will be varied and will aim to encompass the individual's complete skill set. A home reporting set-up is available. The post holder will be required to attend the weekly Breast MDT, which takes place at 12:30 - 14:30 on Thursdays. Job planned time is provided for MDT preparation.
