Overview
Our Plymouth hub is led by a team of six event lead volunteers who share responsibility for running events. The team is non-hierarchical, meaning everyone plays an equally important role, but a Hub leader helps coordinate the group and ensures everything runs smoothly between events. Before each monthly BioBlitz Battle, five key roles need to be allocated among the team. Roles are flexible - different people can take on various roles each month.
Five Key Roles
1. Event Director - main point of contact on event day; gives pre-event briefing and post-event debriefing.
2. Social Media Coordinator - captures the event and shares updates.
3. Safety Officer - conducts a dynamic risk assessment on event day and keeps the event safe for everyone.
4. Data Officer - ensures accurate and exciting biodiversity records; leads on species records verification.
5. Identification Station Lead - helps participants discover marine species.
Commitment
Minimum of 8 events per year.
