Job Description:
Can you operate stage lighting within a theatre environment? Are you keen to develop your lighting skills and experience working across our 3 theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon? Do you want to work on show specific lighting installations, programming or follow-spotting? Are you available to join us for up to 18 months to be part of our 2025/26 season?
We are looking for a Lighting Technician to provide lighting and electrical services to support our exciting 2025/26 season in Stratford-upon-Avon.
This post is offered as a full-time, fixed-term 18-month contract, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, where you will work up to 48 hours per week, typically over 6 days out of 7 during Monday to Sunday.
Reporting to the Head of Lighting, key areas of responsibility include:
* Providing lighting related support for shows performed on any of the RSC stages
* Assisting with the smooth running of fit-ups, get-ins, rehearsals, performances, changeovers and get-outs on the Stratford stages
* Assisting with fault finding, repair and maintenance of all departmental equipment
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have:
* Knowledge and understanding of stage lighting, electrical and electronic systems. Basic level electrical knowledge
* The ability to operate and programme theatre lighting control systems – we are changing to ETC Apex desks but also run MA2's.
* Commitment to working collaboratively within a team and using initiative to solve problems
* Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and keeping safe at work.
