What does a Project Worker do?
Midland Mencap is looking to appoint a Project Worker who will work alongside colleagues to turn the Walsall Carers Hub vision and mission into a reality.
Identifying and supporting families or people who provide unpaid care to individuals with disabilities and illnesses, they will need to work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to support engaging wellbeing activities and provide information, advice, and guidance.
They will engage with our town's cultural diversity and identify individual and community asset-based strengths.
Our Project Worker will work within a rota system to meet the demands of a busy service, providing frontline support to unpaid carers and working with volunteers to maximize our reach.
As part of the Walsall Carers Hub, the Project Worker will embrace person-centred and user-led approaches, with citizen consultation and co-production at the heart of the role.
They will support the marketing and promotion of the Walsall Carers Hub to unpaid carers and potential referral agencies in both the statutory and voluntary sectors.
They will participate in regular reviews of activities and casework, ensuring good quality risk assessments and person-centred plans are in place to support the needs of unpaid carers engaging with the hub.
They will understand the barriers facing unpaid carers, especially those from hard-to-reach backgrounds.
The ideal Project Worker will work well within an established team and use their initiative when communicating with staff, unpaid carers, and professionals.
They will build and maintain good working relationships with multiple agencies such as social workers and teachers, and be organized in planning and managing their schedules towards our referrals and assessment process.
They will identify and act upon any safeguarding issues in relation to multi-agency guidelines, ensuring compliance with guidelines while maintaining all reports and records confidentially and timely, in line with Midland Mencap’s policies and procedures, GDPR, and safeguarding aspects.
They must be enthusiastic, highly motivated, and willing to try new things while adapting to the needs of Midland Mencap and the Walsall Carers Hub.
