Job Details: The Quality Control Centre Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting a wide variety of testing procedures to evaluate and monitor Cobb flocks and facilities for avian health and disease freedom. The Quality Control Centre is a unit of the Quality Assurance Department and is responsible for the examination of a range of samples generated by Cobb Europe and its franchise operations. Main responsibilities Performing a range of blood testing including using ELISA assays. Preparing blood samples for export requirements Processing salmonella samples through the standard methodology as required Conducting PCR testing Conducting Virus Isolation testing Prepare and maintain adequate stocks of all culture media and reagents Cleaning, sterilisation and waste disposal Additional Responsibilities and Projects Handling a variety of poultry samples such as bloods, swabs, faeces, feathers, dust and environmental samples Maintaining documents and records to remain compliant with the ISO 17025 standard Conducting a range of QC checks on equipment, media and the environment Using a range of I.T programs to process and record test results To strictly adhere to all bio-security rules.
