We are seeking a qualified Speech & Language Therapist to join our Children and Young People's Integrated Therapy team (CYPIT).
You'll plan and manage your own varied school-age caseload and deliver services using an impact-based model of clinical decision making. You'll have 2 days working in mainstream schools and 2 days in specialist settings.
1. Be at the forefront of establishing a new resource base for children with autism and with learning difficulties.
2. Contribute to the development of a second new resource base providing social, emotional, and mental health support for a small group of children.
3. Enhance your knowledge and skills within the wider multi-disciplinary school-age therapy team.
4. Work alongside Occupational Therapists and specialist teachers.
5. Benefit from supervision and shadowing opportunities from experienced therapists.
This is a Band 6 permanent role for 4 days per week. The role qualifies for additional HCAS payment. Locations are all very accessible from Reading and near the M4, but being a driver is essential for this role. There is also opportunity for home working.

Main duties of the job
6. Work autonomously to provide high quality assessment, diagnosis and interventions for children and young people with developmental / complex needs
7. Provide specialist therapy input into clinical services within a designated area/team
8. Contribute to embedding the Care Aims approach used within our service
9. Work in an integrated way with therapy colleagues to meet the needs of children and families
10. Be involved in the development and delivery of training packages
11. Contribute to embedding universal and targeted strategies within specialist resource settings

28. Professional Qualification Professional knowledge acquired through degree/ diploma supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist Training
29. Able to demonstrate an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people.

31. Member of relevant clinical specialist interest group
32. Able to demonstrate required clinical knowledge of up to date children's Speech and Language Therapy interventions and service issues

33. Recognised CPD in area of clinical specialism
34. Able to demonstrate understanding of a neurodevelopmental approach to the management of CYP

35. Experience with the assessment and delivery of AAC
36. Post graduate clinical experience and working knowledge in specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy
37. Experience of supervision and training of junior therapists/ Assistant staff and/or other professionals
38. Willingness to undertake leadership and management training and development
Previous Experience
