What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, onsite your key responsibilities will include:
* Managing a small team of lab analysts responsible for all microbiological and chemical finished product testing on site.
* Supporting new initiatives and programs as required.
* Driving quality and product integrity:
o Providing quality and technical support to all areas to ensure product quality is maintained.
* Quality execution:
o Ensuring the completion of all asset care tasks in line with site requirements.
o Providing technical support and supervision for maintenance and quality activities.
o Advising on micro and product-related issues.
o Performing calculations for syrup corrections and investigating failures.
o Conducting lab and sampling tasks efficiently.
o Setting up and performing sensory sessions.
o Specializing in equipment calibration and microbiology.
o Performing plate prepping and reading.
o Assisting in process technical operator activities as needed.
o Utilizing quality and performance systems effectively.
o Leading problem-solving efforts for quality, micro, and syrup make-up issues.
o Being the area expert for water treatment.
* Responsibility and sustainability:
o Conducting QESH checks to ensure product and equipment specifications are met.
o Participating in Environmental and Health and Safety risk assessments as requested.
* Site health and safety:
o Following site safety best practices.
o Carrying out dynamic risk assessments of planned work.
o Ensuring personal hygiene meets food industry standards.
o Conducting pre-use inspections on machinery.
* Environmental responsibilities:
o Reporting leaks and spillages.
o Completing water treatment audits as required.
o Reducing pest ingress.
o Segregating waste according to site policy.
o Controlling energy usage in the area.
* Operational excellence:
o Providing on-the-job technical training to enhance understanding of micro, quality, and GMP practices.
o Sharing best practices with team members to improve yield, quality, safety, and environment.
o Using quality monitoring systems to drive performance and rectify issues.
o Actively participating in OE programs and supporting improvement activities.
o Assisting in the development of asset life plans.
* Team flexibility:
o Training and coaching team members to improve their knowledge of micro, quality, and GMP practices.
o Operating machines as required to assist in syrup production and support quality issues across the site.
