We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Harlow. This rewarding position involves working closely with a child with additional Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support to a child with SEN, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
* Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement personalized learning plans and strategies.
* Support the child’s emotional well-being, fostering confidence, independence, and social skills.
* Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the child remains engaged and included in group tasks.
* Monitor and document the child’s progress, sharing insights with staff and parents as needed.
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
* A flexible and adaptable attitude, ready to work in a dynamic school environment.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided if necessary).
Requirements:
* A valid and up-to-date DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
* Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
