Dynamic Sales and Marketing Manager required by our market leading aviation systems and solutions specialist provider. Previous Aviation sector experience is essential.
Our client has been established for more than three decades and specialise in the supply of services, systems and solutions allied to the aviation industry, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for and beyond, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Sales and Marketing Manager to complement their professional sales team. Based in the North East of England and supplying to customers in more than 50 countries throughout the world, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities from the company’s expansive product portfolio that can be used by both existing and new clients in their airports or operations environments.
You will primarily be focussing on UK customers to identify specific Air Traffic Control systems needs, although there will be occasions to travel internationally as required (although most communication will be via email and telephone until commercial agreements are being finalised) and you will handle all of the logistics related to the sales opportunity from a stock of standard documents and prices, and where solutions are more complex, you will have the support of the team of experts and consultants to provide estimates, prices, documentation and guidance in order to ensure the best selection of product.
Acting as the interface between the customer and the technical team, as Sales Manager you will be required to work flexibly and at times unsociable hours, spending most of your time listening and talking to customers either on the phone or in person before visiting, with this generally determined by the size/value of the opportunity. It is imperative that the Sales Manager seeks to better understand our customer needs by building relationships where both parties can trust each other and as the nature of the ATC sector is a highly competitive environment in favour of the customers, you will have to have an in-depth knowledge of the market, the structure and organisation of the clients business and of the technological solutions available so as to be able to offer the best solution to the demands of the customer.
Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging Sales Manager position will include promoting sales of ATC products and services across your territory, whilst maintaining a full and comprehensive knowledge of products and services available in the portfolio. You will develop longstanding and commercially beneficial relationships with clients and produce clearly defined quotations and proposals utilising standard product documentation and prices, whilst managing the administration of support and maintenance contracts and maintaining the sales, quotation and customer database.
You will also collaborate with the hired marketing company to create and implement marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, advertising, and promotional activities, to increase brand awareness and generate leads and manage the company’s online presence, including website content, social media channels, and email marketing campaigns.
With an annual sales deliverables target of £2.10M within Air Traffic Systems, it is envisaged the successful candidate will demonstrate a good technical knowledge of ATC systems and at least 5 years’ experience gained in the aviation industry with excellent communication and negotiation skills at all levels.
