Job Description
This is a fixed term post until 31/03/2025.
A vacancy has arisen in Dumbarton Academy. The post holder will assist in the day-to-day operational requirements of the catering service within this premise.
Duties will include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, and compliance with all relevant legislation. Responsibilities also include setting up and clearing away equipment for food service, as well as general cleaning to a high standard including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room, and toilets.
The post holder will adhere to Food Safety System, Safe Systems of work, and Health and Safety Legislation. Knowledge of such legislation would be an advantage, as would previous experience in this type of work.
The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Applicants will be asked to select their preference according to their availability. Please note that while some degree of flexibility in working may be considered, the core cleaning times are as stated.
Requirements
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, and as such, membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
