The Estates Department are seeking to employ a Buildings Services Supervisor Specialist Service responsible for the Water Compliance to assist the team and work with directing resources where necessary, in the expert management of the Trusts complex water systems across the York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) Estate.
You will be the Deputy Responsible Personfor the maintenance of all properties and plant,working to ensure all duties, legal requirements and responsibilities are adhered toin line with all relevant statutory legislation and guidancein order for the Trust to meet its statutory obligations.
A sound knowledge of water systems including the control and prevention of Legionella, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and other water borne bacteria is essential.
This position will demand a highly disciplined, motivated individual.You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about putting patient care, patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to think on the spot and use your own initiative. To assist Facilities Management in providing a dedicated service and be responsible for the practical implementation and operation of YTHFM’s safety policies and procedures relating to the engineering aspects of Hot and Cold-water systems and processes. Acting as the first point of contact for any water issues and providing all other departments with the technical assistance they require.
To ensure all functional testing of critical systems is carried out to ensure compliance with HTM-04 and the Trust's water safety plan. To carry out detailed analysis of all test reports, performed by either in house staff or external contractors, and to ensure any remedial actions are completed. To consult with external organisations and YTHFM’s appointed Authorising Engineer to resolve complex faults and ensure all future installations meet relevant standards.
The post holder will be qualified to act as the Deputy Responsible Person across the complete range of estates services and as such will accept on behalf of YTHFM each piece of new/refurbished plant or equipment into service. The post holder will help develop YTHFM and Trust Policies within Building Services. The post holder will act as a YTHFM expert and liaise/negotiate with external bodies on new projects.
