Are you an inspiring individual who has experience in supporting high-needs students within Education? As a leading West Midlands Further Education College, we are currently recruiting for a part-time Learning Support Assistants to join us on fixed-term contracts until June 2025.
Please note your salary is calculated based on the number of term-time weeks and the hours worked. The advertised salary reflects the full academic year.
Salary: £23,447 - £27,164 per annum (Pro rata 15,718.60 - 18,210.43)
Key Responsibilities
You will be working with students who have complex needs (SEN) and your ability to develop trusting relationships is critical to this role. This role will require someone with strong behaviour management skills, admin experience, and most importantly someone who is confident and comfortable with all aspects of personal care. An interest in teaching and a desire to improve these students’ lives is essential.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
These are excellent opportunities for individuals who have a strong understanding of the wide range of needs students have in an FE setting that affects the achievement of goals.
You will be adaptable, resilient, and have a desire to make a lasting difference to the lives of our students. Your classroom and behavioural management skills will be strong, and you will have the ability to work with students who have a wide range of emotional and physical needs.
To be successful you must have at least GCSE in English and Maths to grade C or above, or a recognised equivalent qualification (FS L2), and current skill levels at L2 in Literacy, Language and Numeracy. You will hold a minimum of a Level 3 subject qualification and a teaching qualification is preferable in PTLLS or equivalent.
