As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) in the NHS, you will support healthcare professionals in providing compassionate, high-quality care. Key Responsibilities:
* Patient Care:
o Assist with personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility, ensuring patient dignity and comfort.
o Monitor vital signs and report any changes to senior staff.
o Support basic clinical tasks such as wound care under supervision.
* Emotional Support:
o Provide comfort and reassurance to patients, helping with emotional and psychological needs.
o Support patients' families by providing information and guidance on care.
* Hygiene & Infection Control:
o Maintain a clean environment, following infection control procedures.
o Assist with manual handling and safe transfer of patients.
* Administrative Duties:
o Record vital signs and patient observations accurately.
o Assist in the management of clinical supplies and equipment.
* Teamwork & Communication:
o Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other staff.
o Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and team members.
* Training & Development:
o Participate in ongoing training to ensure skills are up to date.
o Uphold NHS values of respect, professionalism, and compassion.

Skills and Qualifications:
* Essential:
o GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
o Compassionate, empathetic, and able to work under pressure.
o Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Desirable:
o Previous healthcare experience or NVQ in Health and Social Care.
o First Aid or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
