About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Financial Systems Development Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the councils’ key financial systems and providing technical 2nd line support across our Pension, HR, Payroll, and Finance ERP systems.
The Financial Systems Development Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation and continuous improvement of the council’s financial systems. This position is pivotal in maintaining the integrity, reliability, and performance of key financial applications, supporting the council’s business finance and pension services. The role involves providing expert technical support, driving system enhancements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to implement innovative solutions that align with the council’s strategic objectives. By leveraging your technical expertise and problem-solving skills, you will contribute to the seamless integration and functionality of our financial systems, ultimately supporting the council’s mission to deliver efficient and effective public services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, configure, implement, and maintain a range of Financial Systems / Applications.
* Write functional / technical specifications, design, develop, test, and implement enterprise business solutions.
* Provide technical 2nd line support for Financial Systems, ensuring seamless operation and user experience.
* Manage change processes, system housekeeping, and system audits to maintain system integrity.
* Collaborate with project teams and colleagues to develop sustainable solutions aligned with the technology roadmap.
* Implement system upgrades, perform maintenance, and remedial actions to enhance Financial Systems.
* Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
* Conduct application software testing to ensure functionality and fitness for purpose.
* Monitor, identify, and correct application issues to ensure business continuity.
About You
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* ITIL intermediate qualification or equivalent in ICT.
* Degree in a relevant ICT subject or equivalent experience.
* In depth and thorough knowledge of applications and systems.
* Experience of managing business critical applications/systems.
* Strong ability to communicate and persuade others regarding technical solutions to business requirements.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* A Professional qualification relating to Pensions / Finance / HR / Payroll
* Experience working with Pensions Systems preferably Altair Pension Administration Software or Civica Universal Pensions Management
* Experience working with Financial Management software preferably Unit4 ERP
* Experience working with HR & Payroll Systems preferably MHR iTrent
