We have opportunities for friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused people to join our Catering Team on an "as and when" basis.
Shift patterns cover 6am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Regular work is not guaranteed; applicants can provide as much or as little availability as they like.
Main duties of the job
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Delivering and serving patient food to the ward areas
* Using ward ovens to regenerate food
* Keeping the ward kitchen clean
* Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP
* Washing up and other general cleaning duties
* Working in cold rooms to pick and seal patient food and working in pot wash
The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player, and able to work unsupervised. Full training will be provided. Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.

Person specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
* Good basic education including reading, writing, and basic numeric skills
* Basic understanding or willingness to complete appropriate qualifications and training including Food Hygiene Level 2
* BICSc Qualification/NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning/Catering or equivalent
Experience & Knowledge
* Awareness of security and access control within the workplace
* Able to read, write, and converse in English
* Previous experience of working in the NHS
* Experience in the cleaning industry
* Able to use small and large equipment such as regeneration ovens and dishwashers
York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management LLP (YTHFM LLP) provides a full range of estates and facilities services to York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
New starters will be employed by YTHFM and not directly by the NHS, but they will enjoy the same terms and conditions as NHS staff covered by Agenda for Change.
