Tewkesbury Academy is looking for a passionate and inspiring qualified Teacher of Religious Education to join our supportive and talented team, covering a period of maternity leave. Tewkesbury Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation, a well-established school in the historic market town of Tewkesbury, providing education to over 1200 students aged 11-18. We are conveniently located at Junction 9 of the M5 and close to the Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills, and the historic towns of Gloucester, Worcester, and Cheltenham.

We offer the opportunity to advance your career within a supportive academy environment. We provide excellent training and development opportunities within the Federation, including a full induction program for early career and experienced teachers. Training is delivered locally and/or through our excellent training facility at the CLF Institute, which aims to provide a continuum of development from initial teacher training (ITT) to leadership stages and beyond.
We can offer NQT candidates an earlier start date to gain experience towards the end of this academic year.
What we are looking for:
We seek passionate individuals who want to transform education and actively contribute to the development of the Cabot Learning Federation and the chosen Academy. You will be accustomed to planning and consistently delivering high-quality lessons, have experience in delivering the curriculum in your area, and be a strong communicator capable of motivating colleagues and students. A well-qualified specialist, holding QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, you will have the ability to teach Key Stage 5. We look for professionals with excellent class management skills and high expectations of work and behavior.
Your duties will specifically include:
1. Planning outstanding lessons that meet the needs of all students while developing a high-quality program of study with accurate target setting.
2. Monitoring and reporting on the progress of students and taking appropriate action to ensure all students achieve their potential through exceptional feedback methods.
3. Meeting the needs of learners from key identified groups, including pupil premium, looked after children, SEND, and high-attaining students.
4. Recognizing, valuing, and supporting opportunities that extend beyond classroom delivery to enrich students' experiences and learning.
5. Empowering yourself to develop your own expert practice and support the development of others.
