We are currently looking for a Packing Operator to join us at our facility in Wellingborough for the night shift (Sunday night to Friday morning, from 10.00pm to 6:00am).
The purpose of this role is to assemble and pack products to meet planned volumes and targets in accordance with safety and quality standards. Responsible for delivering manufacturing production performance targets by following agreed operating procedures and actively participating in continuous improvement methodologies to improve performance in terms of HSE, quality, cost, delivery and team development.
Key responsibilities:
* Assemble packaging components and pack finished goods. Replenish components on filling and packing lines.
* Operate packaging equipment after training and demonstrating the required competence level. Support the team to deliver consistent results.
* Record and monitor packing data in terms of output and adherence to plan.
* Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping and participate and contribute to daily briefings. Actively participate in safety, quality and continuous improvement activities.
* Have a sound knowledge of systems and procedures and carry out all work in a safe manner, reporting any issues via the appropriate system.
* Demonstrate a basic understanding of the business and where the supply chain and packing operations fit as part of the business strategy.
Key requirements:
* The candidate must be competent in numeracy to read and understand numbers, works orders, safety documentation filling records, interpret and manipulate data where required.
* Physical dexterity, ability to work quickly, accurately and safely.
* Experience in chemical filling & packing industry.
* Good verbal communication and teamwork skills to work with colleagues to achieve individual and team targets. Good problem-solving skills.
