As part of our continued expansion in Ireland, we are launching our Expert Partner (EP) division, providing ‘Beyond Testing’ consultancy services to support clients in optimising their food safety, quality, and sustainability programs.
We are now seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Developer to establish and grow this new division, initially focused on delivering specialised consultancy services beyond testing and leading the expansion to a full-scale Mérieux NutriSciences (MxNS) Expert Partners program. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this is an exciting new role within Mérieux NutriSciences (MxNS), designed to establish and develop our consultancy-driven Expert Partners services. You will be responsible for:
* Launching and expanding our consultancy offering in line with and to create value for our core business streams.
* Engaging with new and existing clients to identify opportunities where MxNS consultancy services can add value.
* Driving commercial growth by developing and implementing business development strategies tailored to the Irish market.
* Establishing the foundation for the future rollout of the full MxNS Expert Partners program.
Key Responsibilities:
Establishing MxNS Expert Partners Consultancy Services
Your role will focus on delivering and expanding consultancy services that complement and add value to our core testing offerings. These services include, but are not limited to:
* Training Services – Designing and delivering tailored food safety and regulatory training programs.
* Environmental Swab Programs – Supporting clients in risk assessment, compliance, and effective implementation of environmental monitoring plans.
* Results Interpretation – Providing expert insights and trend analysis to help clients take proactive action on testing results.
* Crisis Management – Advising and guiding clients through incidents related to food safety, regulatory breaches, or recalls.
Scaling the Full MxNS Expert Partners Program
It is expected that the role will evolve to:
* Develop and implement a strategic plan for launching the full MxNS Expert Partners program in Ireland.
* Build and lead partnerships with key stakeholders, technical consultants, and industry experts to expand service offerings.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, and technical teams) to integrate the Expert Partner program into MxNS’s wider service portfolio.
* Ensure the program is positioned as a premium advisory service, offering high-value solutions to clients seeking expertise beyond traditional laboratory testing.
YOUR PROFILE
* Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Business, or a related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Development or Sales within food safety, consultancy, auditing, or compliance services.
* Proven ability to develop and execute business growth strategies.
* Strong relationship management and consultative sales skills.
* Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Analytical mindset with experience in interpreting data and advising clients on regulatory and compliance issues.
* IT proficiency, including experience with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and KPI reporting.
* Ability to work autonomously while driving results within a growing division.
* Experience in developing training programs or consultancy services.
* Familiarity with food safety audits, environmental monitoring programs, or crisis management.
* Understanding of tender processes and contract negotiation.
