Location: PRM Distribution Lisburn Infrastructure Support Specialist (ISS25/01) As an Infrastructure Support Specialist you will be joining one of the largest distributor of chilled foods throughout Ireland. The role is multi-faceted being proactive in ensuring that the PRM Infrastructure is secure, protected and up to date in the face of known and emerging cyber threats and is fit for purpose', contributing to resolution (and avoidance) to issues and problems affecting the IT Infrastructure. The role also involves managing the server infrastructure and core business applications across data, compute, storage, network, virtualization and Security. The individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and developing our IT & Systems. The role will require a broad skill set in all areas of IT. Key Responsibilities: * IT Infrastructure Security and Cyber protection * Ensure the IT Infrastructure, its data, files and applications are protected against known threats and attacks. * React to emerging threats to minimise any risk of comprise of the IT Infrastructure. * Review and make recommendations to provide adequate levels of IT security in line with best industry practice and/or in response to new cyber threats. Infrastructure Maintenance and Capacity Planning * To advise/lead on proactive and preventative housekeeping of the IT Infrastructure. * Undertake capacity planning ensuring the IT Infrastructure and Services are fit for purpose. *Ensure backup, failover and recovery systems are maintained and tested. *Manage the on-premise server infrastructure. * Manage security policies via Group Policy and Intune. * Ensure all systems are upgraded and patched to latest/stable version. *Monitor systems and network to ensure healthy running and maximum uptime. * Endpoint management and security Incident, Problem Management and Support * Provide 3rd level technical support relating to technical issues and maintenance involving Microsoft's core business applications, Data Centre as well as virtual environments built on Citrix, Microsoft, and VMware. * Provide advice on and be involved in tasks and actions in response to issues, problems and incidents. * Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Intune, 365, etc. Other * Provide out of hours cover when necessary. * Assist IT Manager to deliver key projects set out in the business plan. * Obtain a good knowledge of our core applications and business processes. * Ensure compliance with software Licensing. * Ability to diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues. * Maintain documentation Essential Experience: * Working knowledge & experience in core business applications such as Windows Server, Exchange, VMware, Microsoft 365, Citrix and SQL Server. * A sound understanding of basic business structures and processes * Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role Key Skills: * Exceptional ability to provide technical support and resolve queries * In-depth knowledge of hardware and software * A technical, logical thought process * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills * Strong verbal and written skills proven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff We are an Equal Opportunities Employer Closing date: Friday 08 Nov 2024 23:59 To be considered for this role you will be redirected to and must complete the application process on our careers page.
