Based at our new GMP Manufacturing facility in Harwell, UK, the Process Technician (shop floor) position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of both GMP and non-GMP process and support equipment. This role demands a proactive approach to preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering. As the first responder to equipment issues, the Process Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence and contributing to our mission of transforming medicine through mRNA technology. Here's What You’ll Do: Your key responsibilities will be: Performing scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance on all process equipment and systems. Leading troubleshooting efforts and developing remediation activities for complex system and equipment issues. Maintaining cGMP records accurately and efficiently, both paper-based and electronic. Providing subject matter expertise on manufacturing and support systems/equipment operation and maintenance. Leading maintenance activities and managing small projects to ensure operational efficiency. Providing on-call support and responding to facilities issues to support the 24-7 operation of the facility. Your responsibilities will also include: Supervision of contractors, ensuring compliance with site GMP requirements and safety policies. Participating in On Job Training (OJT) as a Qualified Trainer for colleagues. Administering and performing work safely, adhering to site EHS policies and procedures. Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table: Level 3 Certificate in an engineering discipline from City and Guilds, NVQ or similar. 3 to 5 years relevant experience working in a regulated (cGMP preferred) environment. Experience working in sterile manufacturing is highly desirable. Post-secondary degree in a science/technical field or a technical trade school degree preferred. Understanding of automated process equipment (PLC controls) for simple troubleshooting is required. Understanding and experience with pneumatics’ and vacuum systems. Understanding of process equipment (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, mixing vessels) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Expected to be able to present own work to peers and cross-functional managers and influence leadership decisions. Technical writing skills required. Must have a customer service mindset. Ability to manage competing priorities is critical. Must be able use his/her technical background to investigate issues using a structured problem-solving approach to determine true root cause and develop effective corrective and preventative actions. Must be able to find true root cause and path forward for complex problems. Ability to identify and drive improvements to preventative maintenance tasks and strategy. Demonstrated ability to learn new equipment/systems. Familiarity with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required. Ability to interact well with other groups and must be able to take ownership of and follow through on assignments. Must be able to drive results on multiple complex assignments simultaneously with minimal required direction from his/her supervisor.
