We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter to join our team. This position is well-suited to a team player with a customer focused approach and is looking to gain experience within a healthcare environment.
Job Role:
* Assist with the collection and delivery of patients, furniture, medical gases, medical records, x-rays, pharmacy boxes, specimens, blood products, clinical and non-clinical waste, medical equipment, medical supplies, amongst other items, utilising appropriate methods of work as directed.
* Assist with the transfer of patients, in accordance with IFM Bolton Limited Policy, using equipment as directed.
* Respond to cardiac arrest calls in line with policy.
* Changing of medical gas cylinder in clinical areas and the manifold room, using appropriate methods of work.
* Participate as required, in regular team meetings, performance reviews, job chats, return to work discussions and co-operate with accident and/or other investigations.
* Collection and delivery of deceased patients to the mortuary using appropriate means of transport.
* Ensuring the safe storage and maintenance of appropriate stock, medical gases and supplies, allowing them to be available as and when required in designated areas.
* Franking of mail in line with postal service guidelines and IFM Bolton limited policies.
* The role requires the individual to stand, walk, lift, kneel, bend and crouch for long periods. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable adjustment.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, work well under pressure, able to work alone and as part of a team and be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service. This role is subject to Enhanced with Barred list DBS disclosure.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
* Full UK Driving Licence - confident driving a 3.5 tonne van
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
* Ability to take and understand basic instructions
* Ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors and colleagues
* Ability to manipulate portering equipment such as bed push, trolleys, cages etc.
* Ability to work under pressure and respond to changing demands at short notice
* Willingness to undertake mandatory training and any other training identified by the service / organisation.
