Job Description
Registered Nurses provide care to individuals who need assistance as they deal with the effects of aging, injury, surgery, or illness.
Please note that this position is for agency staffing support with potential opportunities for visiting nursing roles.
* The role will include:
* Assessing and monitoring residents' health status.
* Developing and implementing care plans based on individual needs.
* Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
* Providing wound care and managing medical equipment.
* Educating residents and their families on health management.
* Supervising and coordinating care provided by other healthcare staff.
* Responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid.
* Documenting residents' medical histories and progress.
* Experience in wound care, IV medications and re-sites, catheter care, compression/VAC and ostomy care considered an asset.
* Delegate as required within your scope of practice.
Qualifications
* Must have the following qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BScN)
* Bachelor of Nursing degree (BN)
* Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
* Experience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, and/or community nurse is considered an asset.
* Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach; ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently; ability to assist clients with standing, walking, and sitting; ability to reposition clients in bed.
* Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR.
* Updated immunization records (including completion of a two-step tuberculosis test).
* Clear Vulnerable sector screen is required upon hire.
* Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous manner.
* Excellent problem-solving, time management, and crisis-resolution skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Valid G2/G driver's license and access to a reliable car.
* Ability to use phone applications.
Requirements
* Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months.
* Submission of proof of three COVID vaccinations.
* TB test completed within 6 months to a year.
* Immunization record.
* Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification.
* Mask Fit.
