The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for leading the quality function across all aspects of manufacturing, supplier quality, and product quality engineering. This role ensures adherence to the highest quality standards while driving a Zero Defect Culture (ZDC) within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Strategy:
* Develop and implement a robust quality strategy aligned with business objectives and Zero Defect Culture (ZDC).
* Lead the continuous improvement of quality processes, systems, and methodologies.
* Establish key quality metrics and drive initiatives to achieve world-class performance.
* Provide expert guidance on quality best practices across the organisation.
* Development of Quality organisation inline with current expansion projects in Sunderland UK.
Technical Quality Management:
* Oversee IQC, PQE, IPQC, AQE, QMS, SQ, OQE, and MSE to ensure consistent and high-quality manufacturing standards.
* Develop and optimise quality control processes for manufacturing and supplier quality management.
* Ensure rigorous defect detection, analysis, and corrective action implementation.
* Lead failure analysis, root cause investigations, and problem-solving activities.
* Drive data-driven decision-making and implement statistical process control (SPC) methods.
Leadership & Team Development:
* Build and develop a high-performing quality team, ensuring strong technical capabilities and leadership development.
* Provide mentorship, coaching, and continuous learning opportunities for the quality team.
* Foster cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production, and supply chain teams.
Quality Compliance & Customer Focus:
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
* Drive QMS improvements, ensuring full adherence to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other applicable quality standards.
* Act as the primary quality interface with key customers, addressing concerns and driving proactive quality measures.
Supplier Quality Management:
* Develop and maintain a robust supplier quality management system (SQMS) to ensure supplier reliability and consistency.
* Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to drive quality improvements and defect prevention.
* Conduct supplier audits and develop corrective action plans for performance improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
* 10+ years of experience in quality management within the automotive or battery manufacturing industry.
* Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis.
* Proven experience leading quality functions, including IQC, PQE, IPQC, AQE, QMS, SQ, OQE, and MSE.
* Demonstrated success in driving Zero Defect Culture (ZDC) and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Experience in regulatory compliance, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) or other relevant quality certifications.
* Experience in working with high-volume manufacturing and automated production systems.
* Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and MSA methodologies.
* Proficiency in quality software tools and digital quality management systems.
Traveling:
* Up to 10 - 20% when required.
