The TPS/TAS Manager role supports the Operations Director in the strategic and operational implementation of continuous improvement tools and the TROX Production/Administration System Principles throughout TROX UK. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role will require somebody with a strong understanding of general project management tools, with a developed understanding of Operational Performance objectives, team-oriented environment. The role will also require someone with strong communication and persuasion skills.
THE ROLE
* Support Training and Development by promoting continuous improvement and regular generation of ideas from employees in all areas of the organisation, aligning with organisational values.
* Drive a customer delight-oriented quality and delivery culture.
* Support the coaching and development of all TPS/TAS roles.
* Lead regular workshops promoting lean tools and the TPS/TAS philosophy.
* Support employees and Managers in the planning, moderation and follow-up of their continuous improvement workshops (5S, Waste Observation, Layout planning, etc.).
* Support the implementation of projects through know-how in project management.
* Ensure good planning and achievement of set targets through follow-up and possibly corrective measures in active projects.
* Develop the TPS/TAS implementation level within the UK.
* Ensure sustainability of improvements through documentation, communication and standardisation.
* Represent the UK in TROX GROUP best practice liaison activities, reporting information on recent operations improvement activities.
* Regularly communicate best practice and successes from TROX GROUP to the UK team.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
* Bachelor's Degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or other relevant field.
* Proven process engineering experience (3 Years) within a medium volume manufacturing company.
* Proven hands-on experience including examples of successfully implemented improvement projects within a factory environment is essential.
* Ability to utilise the tools required to ensure project delivery on time, within scope, and to budget.
* Capable of identifying and deploying the appropriate TPS/TAS tools to ensure the continuous development of operations performance objectives.
* Ability to prepare and provide training to others, both short-term and longer-term coaching, to ensure the continuous development of people.
* Able to adhere to the Health & Safety rules in place at TROX UK.
* Excellent analytical skills – to understand the complexity of some problems to identify root causes and execute corrective and improvement actions.
* Computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite programmes.
