We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Staff Nurse (RMN) to join the dedicated healthcare team at one of the Trust in Midlands. This is a temporary role for approximately 12 weeks, providing an opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and rehabilitation of young offenders within a secure environment.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Band 6 RMN with Prison clearance and a strong understanding of working in secure settings. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care to the inmate population, managing a caseload of individuals with complex mental health needs. This role requires expertise in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and the ability to work autonomously within a challenging environment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Delivering comprehensive mental health assessments and interventions for inmates.
2. Managing complex and high-risk cases in line with prison protocols.
3. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including prison staff, psychologists, and social workers to ensure continuity of care.
4. Contributing to the safe management and rehabilitation of inmates with mental health conditions.
5. Adhering to safeguarding policies and maintaining the security of the institution.
Requirements:
6. NMC registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
7. Prison clearance is essential.
8. Experience in secure environments and working with offenders.
9. Strong risk management and clinical reasoning skills.
10. Ability to work autonomously and within an MDT.
11. Newly qualified and Band 5 RMNs will not be considered due to the nature of the role.
