An exciting new vacancy of Assistant Chief Engineer has arisen within The Lowry Hotel - Manchesters Iconic five-star hotel.
As the second leader for Maintenance function you will lead a team of 3 maintenance operatives focused on delivery of 5 * service at The Lowry Hotel.
This role encompasses the following tasks (but not limited to):
- Alongside theChief Engineer, you willMaintain facilities and equipment by conducting inspections on a regular basis to determine need and extent of service, equipment required, type of operation, and maintenance needed
- Manages anyrefurbishmentprojects.
- Ensures adherence to applicable laws by meeting with government and insurance inspectors, and performing follow-up as required
- Keeps all mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints and diagrams up to date; maintains library of part lists, maintenance manuals, reference books, catalogues, etc.
- Ensures that the property is operating in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion by directing all phases of maintenance, repair and renovation
- Manages and develops the Maintenance team supporting the Chief Engineer with appraisals and feedback is continuous. Focuses on team Engagement and productivity. Allocated jobs on a daily basis based on business priorities.
- Responsible for supporting with payroll for the Maintenance function and ensures financial compliance with PO's and audit points.
- Responsible for Health and Safety management
- Ensures PPM program is maintained
- Completes DM shifts and responds to guest feedback
- Achieves the best price and suitability of product by appropriately selecting from available contractors and vendor
- Develops and promotes energy conservation and sustainability programmes by continually monitoring utility costs and consumption
- Maintains logs and journals for all utilities, reviews meter readings and regulates controls
- Prepares the operating budget for engineering, recommends items to be included in the hotels capital budget, and insures adherence with approved budget.
- Ensure all risk assessments are updated and accidents are reported using the Heath and Safety Management system.
- Applies hotel regulations, adhering to existing laws and regulations for safety, security and prevention.
This role requires an active role within the management team and will include at times attendance at daily/weekly meetings, monitoring budgets, and attending the profit and loss review. The role will involve Duty Management shifts within the hotel.
The ideal candidate will possess a professional approach and demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You must have excellent organisational skills and previous experience of setting and managing budgets is also essential.
Flexibility in this role is essential as the hours of work are on a shift basis including weekends, early & late shift. The Lowry Hotels service Brand Pillars of Iconic, Individual and Intuitive service delivery are key attributes to all candidates for this role.
