Senior Nurse/Midwife - Local Neonatal Unit/Neonatal Transitional Care Unit - 37.5 hours per week
This is a Fixed Term contract for 12 months (with a view to be extended)
Are you a passionate and motivated Neonatal Nurse or Midwife? Then this role is for you!
There is an exciting opportunity to join the senior perinatal team at Great Western Hospital as we introduce a Band 7 Ward Manager for Neonatal Transitional Care and Outreach Services. This will initially be for a fixed twelve month period with the potential for extension and a permanent role if the trial is successful. The successful candidate would work closely with the neonatal and midwifery teams to continue the development of the transitional care unit so that we are able to demonstrate BAPM standards of staffing whilst also meeting CNST requirements. The role would require understanding of the Year 6 CNST standards and further development of a project plan to demonstrate how we will move to caring for more preterm infants on the transitional care unit.
Main duties of the job
Once the new transitional care unit is established it is hoped that the successful candidate will then be able to explore how we can also develop our neonatal outreach services to ensure they are inline with the BAPM document that will be published in the coming months. This would also include a piece of work developing the discharge processes across all areas of neonatal care.
The successful candidate will be a Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about family centered care and be willing to develop their understanding of the other professional group as they will be responsible for supporting line management of all staff groups working within the transitional care unit.
