Rotating internships
Our Small Animal Rotating Internships are tailored for qualified veterinary surgeons, whether you recently graduated or are looking for more exposure to a referral setting with the goal of furthering your education. This 12-month program offers exposure to various disciplines and can serve as a steppingstone towards discipline-specific specialist training.
Upon completion, candidates have the option to continue their journey with us in one of our 60 plus out-of-hours clinics or our 24/7 emergency and renowned referral hospital in Glasgow or Manchester, or even return to general practice with more confidence and a wider skill set than before.
Interns will rotate through multiple referral services, participate in externships, and actively contribute to out-of-hours emergency care. Teaching is a vital component, with a diverse induction period and weekly didactic seminars enhancing the clinical experience. Funded continuous professional development opportunities are also available.
Our ECC Internships are designed for qualified vets eager to expand their expertise in a chosen area. With a focus on Emergency and Critical Care, this 12-month programme offers in-depth training and research opportunities. Collaborate with referral teams, participate in subject-focused tutorials, and gain access to our rich in-house teaching resources.
Preferably, candidates would have completed a rotating internship prior to their start date, but this is not essential.
Discover a work life less ordinary
"The internship is an excellent hands-on way to get experience while learning from some of the best specialists in their fields. I'm confident it will provide me with the perfect foundation for a career in emergency and critical care."

Discover your future
Our internship programmes offer a unique opportunity to create and build connections that will develop vet surgeons beyond the clinical. Building connections that bolster client/patient care, and professional networks and support the progression of their career. Since its launch, 95 vet surgeons have completed our internship programmes and of those, 27% have gone on to become either an advanced practitioner or a diplomate.
Embracing our evidence-based learning culture and being inspired by our experienced clinicians offers a unique opportunity for those ready to take the next step in their career. Teaching is an essential component of our internship programmes, with weekly didactic seminars and lectures that will augment the clinical experience.
Even in times of uncertainty, our business has continued to grow at an exceptional pace. With the significant expansion in our service across the UK, we have continued to invest in the next generation of veterinary professionals, including the growth of our rotating and discipline-specific internship programmes.
