Product Manager
The Role involves working with the thinkFolio product team in the S&P Global Market Intelligence Division. Within that team, the role involves working as a Product Manager in the Continuous Improvement scrum. The thinkFolio Continuous Improvement scrum contains personnel from Development, QA, and Product. The team is geographically located across Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, and North America. Intra-team communication takes place mainly over Microsoft Teams calls. The team is responsible for the management of thinkFolio software from a Business As Usual (BAU) perspective. There is a single version of thinkFolio software. New thinkFolio software updates are delivered monthly.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Scheduling and planning the scope of a monthly delivery from a Continuous Improvement scrum up to 3 months ahead of time.
* Ensuring that all of the development items making up that content meet the team Definition of Done.
* Setting the expectations of any customers planning to take that software update as to the content of that software update.
* Ensuring there is sufficient Dev/QA resource to complete the software update in a timely manner, escalating where there is not enough time.
* Managing against scope creep where possible, re-planning for late important items where necessary.
* Ensuring that the other thinkFolio scrum teams can keep to the monthly schedule, escalating where it becomes clear that they cannot.
* Occasionally supporting QA by testing items.
* Coordinating the completion and delivery of the monthly software update and associated documentation.
In addition to scheduled monthly software updates, the team is also responsible for delivering unscheduled, customer-specific software updates to remediate agreed Priority 1 production issues ('Hotfixes') at customers; these follow the same process as the monthly delivery updates but are delivered ad-hoc.
Within the team, the role necessitates the ownership (together with the team scrum master and other product managers of the team) of the following agile ceremonies:
* Backlog management/grooming.
* Planning/Scheduling of scheduled monthly deliveries.
Weekly/Ad-hoc Refinement and Replenishment sessions include:
* Triage of newly raised items and discussions as to their feasibility with senior members of the thinkFolio team.
* Review and retrospective of the monthly deliveries and the team's performance.
What we're looking for:
* Understanding of the full product lifecycle.
* Understanding of the delivery of a product through an agile development process.
* Ability to prioritize, plan, and schedule work.
* Ability to multi-task in a challenging environment.
* Must be organized and able to manage multiple projects and relationships in parallel.
* Technical writing skills for writing release notes.
* Prior financial services industry experience.
* Demonstrated track record working across technology, data, and information systems software.
* SQL.
* ADO/JIRA.
* Familiarity with thinkFolio or a similar front office system.
