A position for a Specialty Registrar has become available within the General Surgery and Upper GI departmentat Ealing Hospital. This is an exciting time to join the department as we have expanded the number of surgeons in recent times and with strong research platforms in Upper GI Surgery, there is good opportunities for the right candidate to develop their surgical career.
· Providing high-quality clinical care to surgical patients on emergency and elective settings.
· Participating in on call rota cover, ward rounds, outpatient clinics, weekly theatre sessions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
· Assisting in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of surgical cases.
· Supporting the training and supervision of junior medical staff and medical students.
· Contributing to audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives within the department as well as the regular activities of the department such as the Mortality meeting and the journal club.
· Demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to Trust policies and guidelines.

· Provide expert clinical care to patients within the General Surgery and Upper GI department, adhering to best practice guidelines and protocols.
· Participate in surgical procedures, pre-operative assessments, post-operative care, and emergency surgical interventions as required.
· Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and clinical audits to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
· Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, offering guidance, feedback, and support in their professional development.
· Contribute to teaching and training activities for medical students, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals within the Trust.
· Engage in research projects, quality improvement initiatives, and audit activities to enhance clinical outcomes and service delivery.
· Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development, attending relevant training sessions, courses, and conferences.
